I love the summer, there are always a billion fun things to do and I love it. Kent and I just got back from our first camping trip. It was a blast. We camped for two nights by Heuron National Park on the AuSable River. The first night was great in our tent, we have a 2.5 person tent, just big enough for the two of us and the dog. It was great until Petoskey (our 80 pound Golden) decided that it would be great if she slept on top of me. Plus Kent forgot his pillow - which I set out for him to pack with some of his clothes and he still forgot it - so we shared a pillow. All of this led to a not so restful night's sleep. On Saturday we got inner tubes and enjoyed being on the river for several hours. We ate really well too, from tacos, omelets, pancakes, and of course pudgy pies! We ate like kings. The second night was much better and Petoskey was exhausted from swimming laps around our tubes for 3+ hours so she crashed at the bottom of the tent. Plus Kent used an extra blanket as a pillow. It was tons of fun. Sunday morning we even caught some of the canoes from the race that went from Grayling to Oscoda. Tons of fun!
This week, I am working hard on getting ready for school. I am also working on painting the chairs. With only three weeks left until I go back to school, I would like to finish these tasks:
1. Chairs - paint and reupholster the 5 chairs
2. Master closet - must organize (sobs in the background!)
3. Organize for school - there is so much to do
Maybe some other tasks, but we'll see. I'm mostly focused on school we'll see what else gets done. Hopefully we'll have some more exciting weekend adventures coming up soon too!
